Dr Yang Wei obtained a first class BEng (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire in 2008, and from the University of Southampton, an MSc degree in Microsystem Technology in 2009 and a PhD in 2013. He is a senior research fellow in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS).
Dr Wei has more than 4 years experimental experiences in the field of wearable electronics and been heavily involved in various internal and external projects. His expertise covers electronic design/integration, printing techniques, material formulation as well as characterisations. His research interest includes wearable physiological sensing (e.g. temperature, humidity, ECG, EEG and EMG), wearable antennas/RFID and flexible displays. Yang was the key personal of two large EU projects (MIRCOFLEX and CREATIF) and is currently working on two EPSRC electronic textile projects (FETT and Smart City Platform).
