The Smart-Textiles And Robotics (STAR) meetup group is happy to announce for a talk by Dr Yang Wei on Electronic Textiles. Join us on 30th of November at CodeNode to learn more about state-of-the-art in research of smart fabrics and commercialisation opportunities.
Wearable technology is a rapid growing field with a huge market potential in many sectors (e.g. sports/fitness, healthcare/medical, fashion, workwear and military). This talk will focus on the electronic textiles (smart fabrics) and their applications on wearable technologies. It will cover the overview of e-textiles, case studies on the progresses at the University of Southampton, the advances of the current research and challenges for the future work. It will also include the commercialisation of the university research in order to maximise the social and economic impacts.
