As a startup usually the only thing you can afford to care about is building out your product as quickly as possible. At the same time, as engineers you want to follow best practices and make sure that your tech stack is not a black box. In this talk Alex will explore the tradeoffs he and his Team had to consider when balancing how much they can invest in making their stack observable vs continuing to ship and support new features. Specifically Alex will share with you the evolution of their logging, monitoring, and tracing practices within their AWS-only, container-only, microservices architecture in the first three years of his start-up's existence.
