SkillsCast

Introduction to functional reactive programming

18th April 2017 in London at CodeNode

This SkillsCast was filmed at Introduction to functional reactive apps with Clojure

SkillsCast coming soon.

The dynamic nature of ClojureScript supports highly interactive development for rapid prototyping which also generates highly optimised JavaScript through dead code elimination. The use of immutable data structures (list, map, vector, set) and core.async library also make Clojurescript a great language for single page apps and reactive programming.

Through simple code examples we will explore how to create functional reactive single apps with Clojure, using libraries like React.js, Om/Om-now and Reagent. You will discover some of the benefits and challenges with the react libraries and if you are new(ish) to front end development you will get a better appreciation of how to build client side single page apps.
