17th July 2019 in London at Skills Matter

This SkillsCast was filmed at Special workshop: Linux from scratch and Linux 103 - the CLI and beyond

Want to understand Linux? Want to master the operating system that powers the Internet? Worried about installing it? Don’t want to repartition your hard drive? Running a Mac? Windows 7 or later? This special free workshop is just for you!

This short class will teach you how to install Linux under Oracle’s VirtualBox (Windows 7 will be used as the example but it applies to VirtualBox on Linux or Mac OS).

After that we will do a Linux 103 class - post installation tasks, the Command Line Interface (CLI) and proper package management under Linux (i.e. how to correctly install software under Linux).

This will provide you with an Ubuntu/Debian compatible installation.

These are completely free classes, but you MUST do the prerequisites before attending (they are simple and detailed below).

Prerequisites (things that should be done before the workshop):

• A fully charged working laptop (Windows 7 or later, Mac, or Linux, 4 Gb RAM or better)
